Method 1: Advance User Accounts applet

To automate logon for a certain user in Windows 7, we can utilise the Advance User Accounts applet. To run the applet, type netplwiz in the start menu search box and press enter.

In the Users tab, untick Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer and click apply.

A prompt for user name and password should appear. Enter the credentials for the user that you want to automate login for and click on OK.

 

Method 2: Registry editting

  • Username: Admin
  • Password: Admin123
  • Domain: wss.local

Open up the registry editor by running regedit.

Browse to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon and add the following registry keys.

AutoAdminLogon = "1", 1= enabled, 0=disabled
 DefaultUserName = "Admin"
 DefaultPassword = "Admin123"
 DefaultDomainName = "wss.local", not needed if logging into local account.
